I recently interviewed fellow engineer Alexander Barrios, here are some of his answers.
1. Could you please define Engineering in your own words?
Engineering is the branch of science that deals with math and logic problems.
2. What influenced you to pursue Electronics engineering, industrial ingeneering, computer science engineering or informatics engineering?
I pursued Electronic Engineering because i think technology and electronics is the future of our world, and in order to be valuable in that future, I studied electronics.
3. Could you please describe the educational process required to become an Engineer?
You've got to study math and all that logic kind of subjects very hard, and above all, you've got to like it.
4. What are the skills you need to be a good engineer?
To be a quick thinker, to like logical puzzles, and to like your area of expertise.
5. What job considerations were you looking for after you completed your education?
I was looking for a computer and network manager in a company, and I got it.
6. What's something of your school life that you enjoy the most?
I enjoyed lab works very much.
7. From your perspective, what is the most difficult part of being an engineering student?
The hours and hours you dedicate to practice and practice, you need a lot of it if you plan to get through the career.
8. What are your plans for the future?
I'm thinking about studying another career, electrical engineering maybe.
9. Point out your most personally gratifying moment in Engineering school.
When I presented my thesis and got a 20 in it.
10. Why would you recommend Engineering as a career?
Because if you're good at it, you'll have a good chance to get a nice job and people will respect you for it.
